Description
1879-O Morgan Dollar, MS66
None Numerically Finer at Either Service
1879-O $1 MS66 PCGS. VAM-26. This variety shows a doubled 9
with heavy polishing lines in the bottom loop, a thread-like
impression running over the bottom two cotton leaves, and a
vertical polishing line through the left S in STATES. This
impressive Premium Gem is well-struck for the issue. Sharp
definition of the hair strands above the ear is matched by bold
plumage on the eagle's breast and legs. Cartwheel luster adds
vibrant eye appeal to the frosted, brilliant-silver surfaces. A
glass reveals a few light contact marks but no significant
abrasions, and Liberty's cheek is smooth. There are no numerically
finer examples in non-Prooflike at either PCGS or NGC (9/25).Ex: Philadelphia Signature (Heritage, 8/2018), lot 5190.(Registry values: P5, N4719)
