Deep Mirror Prooflike
1880 $1 MS65 Deep Mirror Prooflike PCGS. The Philadelphia
Mint produced more than 12 million Morgan dollars in 1880, but
examples with Deep Mirror Prooflike surfaces were rare until a bag
of extraordinary prooflike specimens surfaced in 1971. Wayne Miller
notes, "Many of today's gem cameo prooflike 1880 dollars are
probably from this bag." The present coin is a remarkable Gem, with
sharply detailed frosty devices and deeply reflective fields.
