    1880 $1 VAM-45B XF45 NGC. This is the discovery specimen for VAM-45B that was identified in 2010. It is a late die state of VAM-45 that has a doubled date, motto, neck, and cap. The date is sharply doubled, especially inside the 0. This late die state has a heavy radial die crack from the border through that 0, and up to the bottom curl. Delicate peripheral die cracks are also evident on the obverse. This piece exhibits natural light gold toning with traces of luster.(Registry values: P4, N1)
