Description

1880/79-CC $1 Reverse of 1878, VAM-4, MS65 PCGS. A Top 100 Variety. One of only two 1880-CC Reverse of 1878 VAMs, the other is VAM-7. VAM-4 is also popular due to its prominent overdate. A dusting of tan patina precludes full brilliance. A nicely struck and lustrous Gem with a smooth reverse and only minor obverse grazes.
Ex: Long Beach Signature (Heritage, 2/2005), lot 9978; Dallas Signature (Heritage, 11/2005), lot 3099, which realized $2,530.
From The East End Collection.
