VAM-5, 8 Over High 7
1880-CC $1 8 Over High 7, VAM-5, MS66+ PCGS. CAC. A Top 100
Variety. The counterpart to VAM-4, showing a strong 80/79 overdate
paired with the Reverse of 1879. This Plus-graded Premium Gem
example is frosty on the devices and prooflike in the fields. Both
sides showcase warm golden toning, although the obverse has
additional orange, violet, and ocean-blue toning around the border.
Scarce this fine and rare finer. PCGS has graded 10 numerically
finer examples. CAC: 37 in 66, 5 finer (1/20).Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2542, Variety PCGS# 133877, Base PCGS# 7102)
