Richly Toned 1880-CC Dollar, MS66
1880-CC $1 MS66 PCGS Secure. CAC. Third Reverse. Among the CC dates from 1880 through 1885, the 1880-CC is the scarcest of the lot. This coin does not appear to have come from the Treasury holdings. Most of those coins were brilliant or nearly so. This piece has rich, multicolored toning on each side in shades of purple, blue, green, and rose. The strike is just a bit short of complete, and there are no mentionable abrasions.(Registry values: P4, N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2542, PCGS# 7100, GSID# 7465)
