Description

1880-S Silver Dollar, MS68 Prooflike
Outstanding Color and Preservation

1880-S $1 MS68 Prooflike PCGS. The reverse is colorfully toned in vivid rainbow shades that run horizontally across the coin's upper half, while the obverse shows just a sliver of the same colors along the lower-right border. The rest of the coin is brilliant, with mirrored fields and sharply struck, frosted devices. In general, the 1880-S ranks among the most attractive dollar coins ever struck. This Superb Gem with prooflike fields adds to that legacy, and it is virtually unimprovable in terms of surface equality and eye appeal. Housed in a previous generation green label holder. Population: 27 in 68 (3 in 68+) Prooflike, 1 finer (2/24).
