Single Finest NGC Certified
1881-CC $1 MS68 ★ NGC. As of (11/08), NGC has certified only
three 1881-CC dollars as MS68. Among those, only the present piece
has earned the Star designation from NGC. Thus, this is the single
finest NGC-certified 1881-CC dollar. Among CC-mint Morgan issues,
only the 1885-CC has a lower mintage, which makes this Superb Gem
all the more desirable. It has a razor-sharp strike, with full
detail on the eagle's breast and the hair above the ear. The nearly
brilliant surfaces exhibit dazzling cartwheel sheen and are
remarkably free from abrasions. For the Carson City specialist who
