1881-O $1 MS65 Deep Prooflike NGC. Q. David Bowers writes in his A Guide Book of Morgan Silver Dollars: "Many 1881-O dollars have one or both dies with a prooflike surface. However, bagmarks are endemic among these coins, and finding a truly choice example can be a real challenge." Gem Deep Prooflike coins, such as this example, prove fiendishly elusive. A strongly reflective coin with essentially untoned mirrors, this sharp example also has considerable contrast thanks to the moderate frost across the devices.
