Description
Conditionally Scarce 1881-S Morgan, MS68
1881-S $1 MS68 PCGS. CAC. The 1881-S is famous for being one of the most common issues in the Morgan dollar series, if not the most common. At the lofty MS68 grade tier, even the 1881-S becomes conditionally scarce. This example boasts great technical merit as well as splendid eye appeal. Lovely champagne and turquoise patina blankets the obverse while the reverse shows similar coloration, but only near the periphery. Fully struck, intensely lustrous, and virtually pristine, this is simply a great Morgan dollar in every respect. Population: 87 in 68, 2 finer (4/09).(Registry values: P1, N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2549, PCGS# 7130, GSID# 7486)
