Interesting 1882-O/S Dollar, MS64
VAM-4
1882-O/S $1 MS64 PCGS. Ex: Jackson Hole. VAM-4. A Top 100
Variety. The crossbar of the S is clearly visible beneath the
midpoint of the open loop of the O. Although not noted on the
insert, this is the Strong O/S variety. The present example is
brilliant, with minimal marks for the grade and a good strike,
particularly on the eagle's breast. An elusive VAM variety that is
virtually unobtainable any finer. In fact, PCGS has certified only
a two Gem examples (7/09).(Registry values: P5, N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 254D, PCGS# 7138, GSID# 7513)
