Description
1883-O Morgan Dollar, MS67
Registry Set Contender
1883-O $1 MS67 PCGS. VAM-14. This variety includes a
slightly doubled 18-3 in the date, with die clashing visible on the
reverse under the right wreath and between the IN and the top of
the eagle's wing. Die clashing on the obverse is also seen in the
field under Liberty's hair bun and in the field by the upper neck.
The 1883-O Morgan dollar is an available issue, from a mintage of
8.7 million pieces, but few examples can match the quality and eye
appeal of the present coin. This magnificent Superb Gem exhibits
sharply detailed design elements and virtually flawless surfaces
that radiate vibrant mint luster throughout. Both PCGS and NGC
report only one finer example each, with PCGS showing one at MS68
and NGC also reporting just one at MS68? (9/25).Ex: Dallas Signature (Heritage, 3/2019), lot 4004.(Registry values: P1, N2998)
