1883-S Morgan, MS63 Prooflike
Bold Cameo
1883-S $1 MS63 Prooflike PCGS. CAC. The 1883-S is one of the
rarest dates in the Morgan dollar series in Prooflike grades. PCGS
lists only 23 examples in this category, and just two Deep Mirror
Prooflike examples. The present coin is arguably a bold Deep Mirror
Prooflike cameo on the obverse, but the reverse fields are not
quite as reflective, and thus the Prooflike designation. The strike
is sharp and the motifs are heavily frosted. Scattered abrasions
limit the grade. Population: 8 in 63 Prooflike, 3 finer
