Scarce 1883-S Morgan, MS64

1883-S $1 MS64 PCGS. The first scarce San Francisco Mint Morgan dollar, the 1883-S follows the plentiful 1878-S through 1882-S dollars. This piece has a strong mintage of 6.25 million coins; however, nearly all entered circulation and few have been preserved in Mint State grades. Both sides have satiny silver luster, sharp details, and untoned surfaces. PCGS has only certified 18 finer examples (9/09).(Registry values: P7, N2998)
