Description
Bright Reflective 1883-S Dollar, MS63 PCGS
1883-S $1 MS63 PCGS. According to Bowers (1993), the 1883-S has an extant population of only 3,000-6,000 coins in MS63, this from a sizeable original mintage of 6.2 million pieces. It seems likely that this issue was not widely represented in any of the Treasury or San Francisco Mint releases from the mid-late 20th century. A conditionally scarce offering, the present example is overlaid in bright, semi-prooflike luster that accents the generally bold striking detail.
