1884 Morgan Dollar, MS66 Prooflike
A Rarely Offered Issue With Reflective Fields
1884 $1 MS66 Prooflike PCGS. Prooflike 1884 dollars have
always been a challenging issue and this is borne out by the data
from the grading services. PCGS has only certified 4 other pieces
in MS66 with one finer, while NGC has graded five also in MS66 with
none finer (2/10). This is a brilliant example that has brightly
reflective mirrors in the fields. Set against the mirrors is a
moderate but noticeable amount of mint frost over the devices. The
devices are fully struck throughout, and the only "flaw" of note is
a tiny brown dot of color at the top of the eagle's
breast.(Registry values: P2, N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 254L, PCGS# 7151, GSID# 7493)
