Challenging Issue in Mint State
1884-S $1 MS61 NGC. The 1884-S Morgan dollar is a
challenging issue in Mint State grades because much of the mintage
was released into circulation in the 19th century. The present coin
is an attractive specimen, with vibrant mint luster and relatively
few abrasions for the grade. The strike is sharp in most areas, but
shows a touch of softness on the eagle's breast(Registry values: P9, N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 254P, PCGS# 7156, GSID# 7528)
