    Description

    1884-S Dollar, MS61
    Nice for Grade

1884-S $1 MS61 NGC. NGC and PCGS have graded more than 13,000 1884-S Morgan dollars, the vast majority being in circulated condition. Mint State examples are much more difficult to acquire. The certified population data for MS61 and MS62 examples look suspiciously high (i.e., inflated). This MS61 specimen displays silvery surfaces with well-struck devices, including partial definition in the hair over Liberty's ear and the eagle's breast feathers, areas often seen weak. No significant marks are seen. Really a nice coin for an MS61.(Registry values: P9, N2998)

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 254P, PCGS# 7156)

    Weight: 26.73 grams

    Metal: 90% Silver, 10% Copper
