    1885-S Morgan Dollar, Frosty MS66
    Delicate Border Toning
    Nearly Uncollectible in Finer Grades

1885-S $1 MS66 PCGS. The 1885-S is a better date in Premium Gem condition, seldom offered this fine at auction. Most coins in this grade are non-Prooflike, and higher-grade coins are prohibitively rare. This example is frosty and vibrantly lustrous, brilliant across the interiors with lavender and blue border toning. Only a few faint grazes on Liberty's jaw prevent Superb Gem classification. Population: 94 in 66 (5 in 66+), 2 finer; 1 in 66 Prooflike, 0 finer (10/19).(Registry values: P5, N2998)

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 254U, PCGS# 7164)

    Weight: 26.73 grams

    Metal: 90% Silver, 10% Copper
