Condition Scarcity 1887/6 Gem Prooflike Dollar
1887/6 $1 MS65 Prooflike NGC. VAM-2. A Top 100 Variety (indicated on insert). The curve of the base of the underdigit 6 is evident on each side of the base of the 7. This variety was generally unknown to collectors until 1971 (David Bowers, 2006). The untoned obverse cedes to light gold on the reverse. Light grazes are visible on the obverse, and Liberty's neck reveals some light planchet flaking. Census: 22 in 65 Prooflike, 1 finer (9/09).(Registry values: P4, N4719)Coin Index Numbers: (PCGS# 7175, GSID# 7541)
