Exceptional 1887-O Morgan Dollar, MS65 PCGS

1887-O $1 MS65 PCGS. The typical Mint State 1887-O Dollar exhibits muted luster, a soft strike in the central areas, and often, a heavily bagmarked appearance, thus limiting the grade to MS64 or lower. It is a privilege to offer this MS65 example in the present sale. This piece exhibits swirling, snow-white luster and a bold strike with superior definition on the hair over Liberty's ear and on the eagle's breast feathers. The surfaces are well preserved, revealing just a couple of minute marks on Liberty's face and on the eagle's right wing. PCGS has certified a mere seven coins finer, and NGC has seen three grading higher (6/05).(#7176)(Registry values: P5, N2998)
