    Description

    Scarce Gem Uncirculated 1887-S Dollar

1887-S $1 MS65 PCGS. Even though a large number of 1887-S dollars were in the Redfield Hoard, this is an issue that is very scarce in strict Gem condition, and one that LaVere Redfield's holdings did little to add to the number MS65 and better coins. This is a lovely example that has bright, flashy mint luster and is fully struck throughout. The brilliant surfaces are minimally abraded with only the slightest marks present, none of which are of singular importance.(#7180) (Registry values: P6, N2998)

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2554, PCGS# 7180)

    Weight: 26.73 grams

    Metal: 90% Silver, 10% Copper
