Description
1888-O $1 Clashed E, VAM-1A1, MS65+ PCGS. A Top 100 Variety. The E from LIBERTY is clashed beneath the eagle's tail. VAM-1A has been further delineated into VAM-1A1, VAM-1A2, and VAM-1A3, detemined by the prominence of the die crack through the R in PLURIBUS. This is a "late early" die state with only a hair-thin crack to the center of the R. A lustrous and brilliant Gem with only cursory grazes. The centers show incompleteness of strike.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2556, Variety PCGS# 133917, Base PCGS# 7184, GSID# 25204)
