Description

1889 $1 MS66 PCGS. A radiant and carefully preserved Premium Gem bathed in cobalt-blue, golden-brown, and lavender on each side, with slightly deeper and broader toning on the obverse. Generally well struck, except for the usual softness in the centers. Students of the series note that this issue was heavily melted under the Pittman Act. PCGS has certified only five coins finer (8/07).(Registry values: P3, N1793)
