Description

Well-Struck Near-Mint 1889-CC Dollar
With Frosty Luster

1889-CC $1 AU58 PCGS. The silver-gray surfaces on this appealing near-Mint State key Morgan dollar are frosty rather than the prooflike surfaces sometimes seen on the issue, with nearly full mint luster remaining and an excellent strike. Minor daubs of gold appear on the obverse of what is a largely untoned coin. Note the excellent strike throughout, and the relative lack of abrasions for the grade, save for a single tick on Liberty's cheek. This nice Morgan, the rarest from the Carson City Mint, would fit well into an otherwise Mint State set with no apology whatsoever.(Registry values: P9, N2998)
