Description

1889-CC Morgan Dollar, MS61
Dazzling Cartwheel Luster

1889-CC $1 MS61 PCGS. VAM-2. Ex: Desert Find. A perfect blend of reflectivity and cartwheel luster in the fields delivers a delightful combination of flash and radiance that dazzles the viewer from every angle. A sharp strike complements the fields, and the devices yield the frosty, luminous mint luster for which Uncirculated Carson City dollars are well known. As the grade suggests, moderate abrasions are scattered, but in keeping with norms for Morgan dollars these abrasions are mostly restricted to the obverse. Overall, the coin exceeds expectations of eye appeal for the grade, and has not yet been reviewed by CAC.

Textbook clarity of the die markers for VAM-2 are apparent. Few of the 1889-CC dollars we have seen in MS61 are as crisp and vibrant as this piece.(Registry values: P9, N4719)
