Description

1889-CC Morgan Dollar, MS62
Frosty Surfaces, Soft Mint Luster

1889-CC $1 MS62 PCGS. VAM 3. Ex: Desert Find. The '89-CC is the rarest of the Carson City issues and is one of the biggest key dates in the Morgan series, regardless of mintmark. The date is scarce in any Mint State grade, but is particularly elusive in MS63. In MS64, it becomes truly rare and out of the reach of many Morgan dollar collectors. This MS62 example offers frosty stone-white surfaces and plentiful mint luster for the assigned grade. The coin comes from the once-in-a-lifetime discovery of 35+ 1889-CC Morgan dollars earlier in 2025, which made history at the 2025 ANA. The date if far right and the CC mintmark leans left on this VAM variety. Other Desert Find examples were struck with VAM-2 and VAM-5 dies.(Registry values: P9, N4719)
