Description

Appealing 1889-CC Morgan Dollar
MS63 Deep Mirror Prooflike

1889-CC $1 MS63 Deep Mirror Prooflike PCGS. The 1889-CC is one of the great keys in the Morgan dollar series, and the most elusive of the Carson City issues. Deep Mirror Prooflike examples, such as the present Select coin, are especially challenging.
Deeply mirrored fields highlight the lightly frosted motifs, and just occasional whispers of light gold color visit the obverse. A decisive strike imparts sharp definition to the design features, including the hair at Liberty's ear and the eagle's breast feathers. A scattering of inoffensive grazes prevents a higher grade; nevertheless, this piece generates above-average eye appeal. Housed in a green label holder. Population: 46 in 63 Deep Mirror Prooflike, 16 finer (4/09).(Registry values: P9, N4719)
