1889-CC $1 MS63 NGC. VAM-2....
Description
1889-CC Morgan Dollar, MS63
Well Preserved, Frosty Mint Luster
1889-CC $1 MS63 NGC. VAM-2. The low 350,000-piece mintage
makes the 1889-CC a must-have key issue in both the Morgan dollar
and the Carson City series. The Carson City Mint closed in 1885,
and did not reopen until October 1889. Silver dollars were struck
for only part of the year. These coins circulated extensively, and
as a result most survivors are in VF and lower grades. Even XF and
AU examples are scarce and in high demand. Uncirculated 1889-CC
dollars are rare by the standards of the series, with the great
majority of these in bagmarked, lower-than-Select grades. This
Select Uncirculated coin is brilliant, frosty, and sharply struck
for the issue. Marks are limited to a few extremely minor luster
grazes, primarily in the left obverse field. Eye appeal exceeds the
assigned numeric grade. NGC Census: 72 in 63 (5 in 63+, 1 in
63★ ), 48 finer (8/25).(Registry values: P9, N4719)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2559, PCGS# 7190, Greysheet# 7554)
