Description
1889-CC Morgan Dollar, XF40
Carson City Key Date
1889-CC $1 XF40 ANACS. VAM-5. The 1889-CC is a key date
issue from a mintage of just 350,000 pieces that was largely
stored, then later melted. All surviving examples are challenging.
Dusky tan-gray toning drapes the obverse of this XF40, while the
reverse has deeper stone-gray and almond-gold shadings. The centers
exhibit expected moderate wear, but considerable definition
remains. Marks are light and blended, and none are individually
significant. Certified in an ANACS small-sized holder.Ex: Internet Auction (Heritage, 2/2004), lot 11650.
