Description

Choice XF 1889-CC Morgan Dollar
Original Surfaces

1889-CC $1 XF45 PCGS. CAC. The 1889-CC Morgan dollar in Choice XF grade, as here, is a popular collector coin, and the grade is an often-chosen compromise between grade and price. This XF45 example offers silver-gray surfaces with light tinges of gold on each side. Abrasions are minimal and undistracting. The tiny die line on the obverse, between the largest (topmost) maple leaf and the corn leaf to its left, marks this as a frequently seen obverse die on this issue. The strike and overall appeal are above-average.(Registry values: P9, N1793)
