    Description

1889-S $1 MS64 Prooflike PCGS. Slightly weak above the ear, but generally quite well struck, this untoned Prooflike near-Gem has a pleasing, dynamic appearance as the coin is turned beneath a lamp. Slight cloudiness and a few striations (as struck) are seen in the fields, and the Gem grade is prevented, perhaps, by several luster grazes on Liberty's portrait, and by a couple of milling marks on the eagle's breast. Population: 31 in 64 Prooflike, 6 finer in Prooflike (7/05).(#7195) (Registry values: P6, N991)

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 255B, PCGS# 7195)

    Weight: 26.73 grams

    Metal: 90% Silver, 10% Copper
