Description

Beautiful Gem 1890-CC Dollar

1890-CC $1 MS65 PCGS. This remarkable Gem is lightly toned, and has vibrant luster and outstanding preservation. By Carson City standards, the mintage of the 1890-CC is relatively high. More than 2.3 million pieces were struck. This quantity was more than ten times the production of the 1885-CC, yet the 1885-CC is more than ten times as available as the 1890-CC in MS65. The difference is primarily due to the GSA hoard, which had plenty of '85-CC dollars but very few quality '90-CC dollars.
