Description

1890-CC 'Tail Bar' Morgan Dollar, VAM-4, MS62

1890-CC $1 Tail Bar MS62 PCGS. VAM-4. A Top 100 Variety. A prominent die break below the eagle's tail accounts for the "tail bar" moniker. The reverse is remarkably clean for the grade, although the obverse does have a number of reeding marks and light grazes. An arc of gold toning graces the perimeter of the obverse, which contrasts sharply against the brilliant reverse. This piece is essentially prooflike, although not designated as such by PCGS. A lovely example of this popular variety. (Registry values: P6)
