Description

Satiny Gem 1891 Silver Dollar

1891 $1 MS65 NGC. Many thousands of 1891 Morgan dollars exist in the lower realms of Mint State, whether due to bagmarks, flat luster, or a poor strike--but Gems are another matter entirely. This specimen boasts memorable silver-white surfaces with thick satin luster. The surfaces are barely abraded, and the strike and overall surface quality are far and away finer than usual for the issue. Census: 69 in 65, 2 finer (9/09).(Registry values: P6, N2998)
