Description
Exceptional 1891-O Dollar, MS65
1891-O $1 MS65 PCGS. The 1891-O dollar carries the reputation of "the worst struck of all Morgan dollars. Nearly all show weakness to one degree or another" (David Bowers, 2006). The Gem we present in this lot exhibits better-than-average definition, though some softness is visible in the hair at Liberty's ear and the eagle's breast feathers. The date, often weak, is bold on this specimen. Pleasing luster issues from well preserved surfaces that bear just a touch of light tan-gold color at some of the margins. From The Arnold & Harriet Collection, Part Two.(Registry values: P7, N2998)
