Description
Sharp, Delightfully Toned Near-Gem
1892-CC Morgan Dollar
1892-CC $1 MS64 PCGS. Iridescent ice-blue and cinnamon rim
toning cedes to untoned silver centers on this splendid near-Gem
example of the penultimate Carson City Morgan issue. The strike is
sharp save for the hair just over the ear, and only under a loupe
do a few marks appear that likely prevented a Gem grade.
Interestingly, the reverse shows a couple of wispy die cracks,
including one connecting the two C's of the mintmark. A prize for
the color aficionados.(Registry values: P7, N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 255M, PCGS# 7214, GSID# 7604)
