Description

MS64 1892-CC Morgan With Interesting Die Break

1892-CC $1 MS64 PCGS. One of the more popular dates in the Carson City series, although not in the front rank of rarities. The meager mintage of only 1.35 million coins was likely further reduced by Pittman Act meltings. This silvery and lustrous piece is well produced, although it does show light roller marks at the center obverse under magnification. Contact marks are at a minimum. This piece also shows a nifty die break/fill on the lower loop of the 2 in the date that joins, on the right, stars 13-11 and 9-8 with the (UNU)M, and on the left with the other date digits, the rim, and stars 2-4. A nice piece for the grade, and one that should see a good premium as a variety.(Registry values: P7, N1793)
