Silver-White Gem 1892-O Morgan Dollar
1892-O $1 MS65 NGC. The 1892-O Morgan dollar is one of the more elusive O-mint issues in Gem condition. The Van Allen-Mallis reference notes that the issue is probably the most consistently flatly struck of the entire series, although an occasional fully struck piece is found. This splendid silver-white piece has blinding luster emanating from untroubled surfaces, but the strike is weak on the hair above the ear and on Liberty's cheek, where roller marks appear. The piece generates considerable appeal otherwise, however, with the strike on the reverse much better executed.
