Description

Exceptional 1892-O Gem Dollar

1892-O $1 MS65 PCGS. Light reddish-gold patination gravitates to the borders of this Gem O-mint dollar, and dazzling luster radiates from both sides. The design elements are well impressed, including relatively strong definition on the eagle's breast, and partial detail in the hair over Liberty's ear. This is a significant attribute for the coin, for as Leroy Van Allen and George Mallis indicate of the 1892-O in their Morgan and Peace dollar reference book: "This is probably the most consistently flat struck date of the entire Morgan series." Well preserved surfaces round out the coin's technical quality and aesthetic appeal. Housed in a green-label holder.
