1892-S Silver Dollar, AU58
Challenging S-Mint Morgan
1892-S $1 AU58 NGC. Aside from some minor finds in the
1930s, there were no substantial Treasury releases of 1892-S Morgan
dollars -- a situation not widely recognized by collectors until
much later. By then, Mint State examples were scarcely available
and near-Mint coins were already pricey. This is a sharp AU58 coin,
with ample mint luster remaining at the borders and only minor
obverse chatter. Both sides display partial field reflectivity,
Subtle golden-gray toning and reddish-gold accents add eye appeal
to the pleasing silver surfaces. NGC reports only 53 numerically
finer examples, plus three coins in 58+ (12/25).(Registry values: P8, N1793)From The Zeus Collection.
