1893 $1 MS60 Prooflike PCGS. VAM-3....
Description
1893 Morgan Dollar, MS60 Prooflike
Rare Reflectivity
1893 $1 MS60 Prooflike PCGS. VAM-3. The 3 is doubled at the
top and the left wreath leaves are doubled on the left side for
VAM-3. Among the scarcest Philadelphia issues with just 378,000
pieces, the 1893 is also a rarity with reflective fields, as PCGS
reports only 13 pieces in Prooflike and Deep Mirror Prooflike,
combined (8/25). This example is generally well-struck although the
hair over the ear and the eagle's breast feathers and talons show
slight softness. The mostly brilliant surfaces reveal a few
delightful tinges of light-lavender and cobalt-blue near the edges.
The satiny devices show few bothersome imperfections, and while
some chatter is seen on the obverse fields that limits the grade,
other marks are light and of little consequence.(Registry values: P7, N991)From The Ramundo Collection of Morgan and Peace Dollars.
