1893 $1 MS63+ PCGS. VAM-7....
Description
1893 Morgan Dollar, MS63+
Subtle Peripheral Gold Toning
1893 $1 MS63+ PCGS. VAM-7. The variety shows a slightly
doubled profile, and a strong line through the left fork of Y in
LIBERTY up to the cotton leaf, per VAMWorld.com. The issue realized
only 378,000 pieces by the close of 1893, due in part to the Panic
of 1893 and subsequently from the repeal of the Sherman Act in
August of that year, which lifted obligations to mint any
additional silver dollars. This attractive MS63+ example is
generally brilliant with the edges toned in subtle and splendid
caramel-gold. The strike is only slightly incomplete over the ear
and on the eagle's talons. The surfaces are draped in luminous
luster that releases a dazzling cartwheel effect, easily obliging
the Plus-grade from PCGS. The reverse is pristine, and the obverse
shows just a slight mark on the bottom of Liberty's chin that
defines the grade.(Registry values: P7, N991)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 255R, PCGS# 7220, Greysheet# 7576)
