    1893 Dollar, Lustrous Gem
    Low-Mintage Philadelphia Issue

1893 $1 MS65 PCGS. Ex: The Michigan Collection. A whisper of gold toning adorns this highly lustrous Gem. The surfaces are impressively mark-free despite a minor tick on the cheekbone. It is boldly struck overall but with a hint of incompleteness at the centers. The 1893 is among the lowest-mintage Philadelphia issues of the series (378,000 pieces) and is essentially unobtainable any finer, with just six coins so-graded at PCGS (6/16).
Ex: Dallas Signature (Heritage, 10/2009), lot 1048.
