    1893-CC $1 MS61 PCGS. The Annual Mint Director's Report of 1893 explained: "By direction of the secretary of the Treasury coinage operations at the mint at Carson City were suspended on June 1, 1893, and the force employed in the coiner's department dispensed with." Before closing, 677,000 Morgan dollars were struck, including this brilliant example with cartwheel luster and wisps of golden color. Myriad bagmarks on the obverse limit the grade.(Registry values: P8, N1793)
