Exceptional 1893-CC Select Dollar

1893-CC $1 MS63 NGC. David Bowers (2006) notes of the 667,000-piece 1893-CC dollar that "Probably several hundred thousand (were melted) under the 1918 Pittman Act." Lustrous surfaces abound on this Select example, and reddish-gold patina gravitates to the peripheries, more extensively and deeper on the reverse. Better struck than is typical for the issue, and revealing fewer and less severe bagmarks than typically seen.(Registry values: P8, N2998)
