Description

1893-CC VAM-3 Dollar, MS63
Semiprooflike Fields

1893-CC $1 MS63 PCGS. VAM-3. The final-year of Morgan dollar production at the Carson City Mint offers few opportunities for well-struck examples, especially from the VAM-3 die pair where the ear and nearby hair strands are flat and faint striations exist where the weak strike failed to eliminate them. This Select Uncirculated example shows minimal field marks on the semiprooflike surfaces. Only a few tiny marks on Liberty's portrait exist near the mouth. Bits of purplish-gray toning surround the obverse stars and legends, yet this coin is essentially brilliant in all other regards.(Registry values: P8, N2998)
