Description
1893-S Morgan Dollar, AU50
King of the Circulation Strikes
1893-S $1 AU50 PCGS. This well-defined 1893-S is uniformly
bright-white except for a brief interlude of russet border toning
on the obverse beneath the date and on the reverse above STATES. A
sharp strike accompanies pleasing reflectivity at the margins that
extends well into the fields. As might be expected for the assigned
grade, tiny abrasions exist throughout both sides, although there
are no individually heavy marks or significant signs of contact. A
short cut just above Liberty's jawline is shallow and hair-thin.
Owning an 1893-S Morgan dollar represents the most significant
acquisition for many collectors. This About Uncirculated example is
sure to attract its share of bids, especially given the fact that
most survivors of this issue grade just VF. Among the 100
Greatest U.S. Coins (6th edition).Ex: Dallas Signature (Heritage, 4/2025), lot 3089.(Registry values: P10, N4719)
