Appealing VF25 1893-S Dollar
1893-S $1 VF25 NGC. Among the great curiosities of the 1893-S dollar is that its known population of survivors clusters around the VF grade range, suggesting that the coins circulated for some time but then were saved from commerce. This is an appealing coin from within the range, moderately worn with scattered ticks and a pair of crossing abrasions on the cheek but also pleasing peach-gold toning over parts of the pale gray surfaces.(Registry values: P10, N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 255U, PCGS# 7226, GSID# 7614)
