Description

Appealing MS63 1894 Silver Dollar

1894 $1 MS63 PCGS. The mintage of 110,972 coins, second lowest among business strikes, reflects the repeal of the Sherman Silver Purchase Act of 1890 that occurred in August 1893 and the subsequent drawdown in Morgan dollar mintages. Smooth surfaces and radiant cartwheel luster characterize this lovely Select Mint State example of the 1894. A few minor abrasions on the cheek and neck account for the grade, but this coin would fit well into a mostly Gem set due to its high-end eye appeal.(Registry values: P8, N2998)
